Public Coast is the perfect way to cap off an ambitious Cannon Beach pub crawl.

In the mood for a weekend pub crawl through Cannon Beach? Here’s a six-stop plan that’ll take you through the best bars and breweries in town:

Fresh Foods Market. Tolovana (south end of Cannon Beach). Stop #1. Yes, it’s a grocery store. But they have a nice selection of craft beer on tap. Get a draft, grab a sandwich from the cold case or order a tamale or two from the kitchen, and let the crawl begin.

Warren House Pub. Stop #2 on the crawl, and just a two-minute walk from Fresh Foods. Play a game of pool or sit outside on the deck while enjoying a Spruce Ale.

Onto stop #3: Pelican Brewing, a 20-minute walk north from Warren House. Pelican has a big, beautiful tap room and restaurant right at Hemlock and Sunset. If you fancy an IPA, order up a Beak Breaker Double IPA. In the mood for a clean, crisp pils, Pelican’s Five Fin Pilsner is a good choice.

Next up: Cannon Beach Hardware & Public House. Just 360 feet south of Pelican Brewing. Stop #4 on your epic Cannon Beach pub crawl. Better known as “Screw & Brew,” Cannon Beach Hardware & Public House is a genuine hardware store where you can buy, well, hammers, nails and screws. Better yet, it’s a great little pub where you can buy an ice cold craft brew,

Bill’s Tavern & Brewhouse is stop #5 on the crawl. It’s a 15-minute walk south down Hemlock, which should give you a little time to breathe in the fresh, salt air and clear your head. Owned by the same folks who run Warren House, Bill’s has a small brewery on site where they brew their own delicious beers, including the Blackberry Beauty, a local favorite.

It’s the home stretch! The final stop of six on the day is Public Coast Brewing, located right at the southern end of Cannon Beach, an easy six-minute walk from Bill’s Tavern. Order up at the bar, picking carefully from a host of craft beers, including the Hazy Train, a mango-infused IPA that would be a great way to end the afternoon.
