Often overshadowed by Hug Point to its south and Ecola State Park to its north, the 19-acre Arcadia Beach State Recreation Site (formerly Arcadia Beach Wayside) is one of the Oregon Coast’s most beautiful beaches.

Purchased by the state from various owners in the 1970s and ‘80s, Arcadia Beach features the Humbug Point headland and Lion Rock, a sea stack that resembles a lion.

Located just a five-minute drive south of Cannon Beach, the Arcadia Beach area is also home to the largest known tree in Oregon: An 800-year-old Western red cedar that’s more than 150 feet tall with a 70-foot branch spread.
